Art Book Collection Part 2

These books are imported from Japan and have quite a bit of text. That may influence buying the book.

Rune Factory Official Memoirs

Photobucket

Rune Factory game series is Harvest Moon meet RPG to put basically. The artbook contains art from 1st game up to 3rd and also includes Frontier. It contains a few new artwork not seen anywhere before. For the most part it is a collection of already available and easy to find art. It does contain monster art as well as.

It is a really nice looking book though. There is quite a decent chunk of text at back of the book. Going to miss out on details of the characters. If your a fan of the series and art it is a nice collection. Not as good as it could have been though.

Xenoblade The Secret File

Photobucket

First things first… This isn’t really an artbook. It does contain a lot of really nice artwork and screenshots form the game but mostly it is text. It really like this book even though it has ton of text I can’t understand.

I would buy the book of English version was to release though. The book itself obviously contains a lot of spoilers. I have tried not to show many spoilers but I like Melia. I can see this book being really helpful if I could understand it. Even so there is enough art and screenshots to make up for lack of understanding. There are pages of just text though.

It does show concept art for armor and story boards. In particular the later section on Mechon’s is pretty interesting to look at even if it contains lots of spoilers. That is what to expect from this type of book though.

Macross Frontier Official Complete Book

Photobucket

Book is for Macross Frontier two movies. Contains screenshots and artwork from both movies but mainly focusing on 2nd movie. It heavily features the cover art and if you remove sleeve get to see concept of it. It has pull out version and later in book version of it. The book heavily focuses on the two main girls. It does includes bits form other characters though.

Both Sheryl and Ranka get their own character section with two pages to show them off. Ranka’s introduction page I prefer. The new outfits from 2nd movie are heavily focused on. Older outfits do make an appearance as well. It does show enough detail for those wanting to make costumes of older outfits. Some of the art has been reused though.

Unfortunately they only show in detail two concerts. One Sheryl and one Ranka concert. It would have been nice to see more details on other concert stages as well. With Ranka they did choose her best concert scene though.

They do show pictures from the live concerts as well. There are others bits like that. Obviously interviews and bits of information. It does contain a sizable amount of text but if you really like the series (even if your not fan of movie/s) this is a really nice book.

Thanks for the fan book upload, nice to see whats inside it after all this time. I really would like to know whats being said on that final page you have scanned there with pictures from the last few minutes of the movie. I just wonder if there is any kind of interesting information I don’t know about being said there.

My guess is lyrics to the ending song Hoshi Kira. I could be wrong though. If there is anything interesting it would be from the interviews. There are good few in the book.

It’s Ranka’s monologue from that epilogue scene, not the lyrics.

The interviews truly are a treasure dove, unfortunately a mere fraction of them has been translated. Thankfully I know my way around moon runes a bit so I can read them with some effort 🙂

oh, and the films are great too, even if Ranka fan like me weeps at the conclusion

Thanks, also we think of the movie end now as the bad end. haha ^_^
