Short Reviews of Wii JRPGs I own

Decided to do some quick reviews on some of Wii JRPGs I own.

Starting off we got basic descriptions of the game which includes sub genre followed by a quick description of the game and average play session. After that got my thoughts on who should buy the game and type of cake it would be to help compare with other games. Finally the Lowest and Highest scores I would give the game.

Title: Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles Crystal Bearer

Age Rating: 12+

Sub Genre: Mini Game

Quick Description: Layle is a Crystal Bearer with power of gravity. The world is one huge playground for this ability. As you progress in story you unlock new locations and mini games.

During Play Session: Get story cut scene which leads onto a mini game followed by another cut scene when completed. Once that explore location and mess around with gravity powers.

Who Should Buy it: People who won’t something for a bit of fun and those who wondered what it would be like to have playable cut scenes.

Cake Type: Fun Party Cake

Lowest Score: 60% – Nothing like Final Fantasy or Crystal Chronicles

Highest Score: 80& – Who cares it’s fun to play

Title: Fragile Dreams

Age Rating: 7+

Sub Genre: Exploration

Quick Description: Play as Seto as he explores ruined world where most poeple are long gone. He searches for survivors.

During Play Session: Explore a bit and then head to fire to check items found. Explore some more and then head to fire to check items found. Explore and trigger story event.

Who Should Buy it: People after a story and fantastic place to explore.

Cake Type: A lonely cupcake with pretty decorated

Lowest Score: 50% – Battling and inventory space aren’t great

Highest Score:90% – Really wonderful atmosphere and nice story too.

Title: The Last Story

Age Rating: 16+

Sub Genre: Action, Strategy

Quick Description: A game with heavy focus on story. You play as group of mercenaries who have been hired to take down monsters. Anything more would spoil it.

During Play Session: Cut scene before heading to dungeon. Characters chatter while you explore and fight monsters with cut scenes in between. Finally cut scene before boss battle followed by another cut scene after it.

Who Should Buy it: People after a traditional JRPG feel but not the slow paced combat.

Cake Type: Luxury Chocolate Cake

Lowest Score: 70% – Not enough action and doesn’t last very long.

Highest Score: 100% – It’s a fantastic game and combat is great when you do get to play

Title: Little King’s Story

Age Rating:  7+

Sub Genre: A little bit of Everything

Quick Description: Play as a child who has just become King is setting out to build huge kingdom and rule the world.

During Play Session: Wake up and summon the army. Set off to explore and send army out to defeat monsters. Head back and sit on throne to get money to spend on building Kingdom and hiring more army.

Who Should Buy it: People looking for something different.

Cake Type: Jaffa Cake (wait is that a cake or…?)

Lowest Score: 80% – Some of the requests take ages to do

Highest Score: 90% – It’s so much fun

Title: Monster Hunter Trii

Age Rating: 16+

Sub Genre: Action

Quick Description: Play as a hunter who hunts gain monsters either online with up to four others or offline for added tiny bit of story.

During Play Session: Prepare for a hunt. Select a hunt from list and then set off. Locate monster and start hacking at it. Some time later it you will either kill it or capture it. Take rewards and monster drops to make better armor and weapons.

Who Should Buy it: People who want to hunt huge monsters and maybe those who are just after boss fights.

Cake Type: Chocolate, marshmallow etc random mix cake.

Lowest Score: 60% – Outside hunting monsters there is basically nothing

Highest Score: 90% – Not that it matters most of time your hunting monsters

Title: Pandora’s Tower

Age Rating: 12+

Sub Genre: Dungeon, Love Sim

Quick Description: Play as Aeron who has to cure his love interest by exploring towers.

During Play Session: Get up and check items and talk to Elen before setting off to a tower of choice. Roam around tower and grab some flesh. Head back to Elen to give her monster flesh and maybe some gifts too.

Who Should Buy it: Those who are interested in Elen and enjoy exploring dungeons.

Cake Type: Marble Cake

Lowest Score: 60% – Very occasional camera is an issue and not much outside love sim and dungeons.

Highest Score: 80% – Very interesting mix of genres and chain is fun to use too.

Title: Rune Factory Frontier

Age Rating: 12+

Sub Genre: Farm Sim, Love Sim

Quick Description: Play as Raguna a hero farmer as he builds up his farm and fights monsters on whale island or one of the many dungeons or maybe go after one of the girls.

During Play Session: Wake up do some chores and then either go into dungeon or maybe go fishing to get extra money or maybe go to festival in town or maybe…. And then finally go to sleep to wake next day.

Who Should Buy it:

Cake Type: Cupcake selection with each being different flavor.

Lowest Score: 60% – Runey system is a huge put off and in game days are really long.

Highest Score: 80% – There is a lot you can do though.

Title: Xenoblade Chronicles

Age Rating: 12+

Sub Genre: Action

Quick Description: Play as team of heroes as they set out to defeat the Mechon in a huge world waiting to be explored. Maybe take some time out for huge list of side quests.

During Play Session: Start where left off. Decide to do story or side quests. Go off and explore huge world while doing one or the other.

Who Should Buy it: People after a huge game with tons of side quests.

Cake Type: Humongous Chocolate Cake

Lowest Score: 70% – Not a lot of variety in side quests

Highest Score: 90% – It is a huge game
